TAKI Cup Race

The TAKI Cup Race is a longer length race. It is sailed over two tides around quadrilateral course in Tremadoc Bay. This course takes in the St. Tudwals Islands and, passing by the Careg y Trai Buoy, you may see seals on the rocks at low water. (See chart below) The race will start about 1 hour after high water and will end before the next high water, having completed 1 lap of the course. The race always starts into wind, so the course may be sailed either clockwise or anticlockwise.

The TAKI Cup was presented by one of our founder members, Ken Mann. Taki was also the name of his boat, an Eventide, and the name comes from names of his wife and daughters. They are called Ingrid, Teira, Anita and Karen. Unfortunately the yacht was wrecked on Sarn Badrig after being sold to another member.
