The Greensleeves Races are the shortest of our club races. There are usually four races in a series, best 3 results to win. The races are sailed over one tide around a triangular course close to the entrance of Mochras lagoon. (See chart below) The races will start about 1 hour before high water and, provided sailing conditions are favourable, will end about 1 hour after high water, having completed 2 laps of the course. The races always starts into wind, so the course may be sailed either clockwise or anticlockwise.
Greensleeves was the name of the Eventide yacht owned by one of our founder members John Parkes, who presented the cup to the club.
